As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education for students with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs. Working within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, promote positive development, and help students make meaningful academic, social, and emotional progress.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching to individuals and small groups in line with the school curriculum.
- Monitor, assess, record, and report on student progress and outcomes.
- Design and implement individual education, behaviour, and support plans in collaboration with colleagues.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment.
- Coordinate teaching, assessment, and reporting across agreed subjects and key stages.
- Promote students’ physical, educational, social, and moral development.
- Support students with challenging behaviour to develop self-regulation and independence.
- Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, tutors, and care staff to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
- Contribute to school development priorities and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- UK QTS or equivalent, with a relevant degree.
- Skilled in supporting students with SEN, autism (ASC), learning difficulties, and complex needs.
- Compassionate and resilient – able to build trusting relationships with pupils who have faced significant challenges.
