As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the Cook/Supervisor in preparing and serving meals, delivering a safe, efficient and high‑quality catering service for pupils and staff. You will help maintain a clean, well‑organised kitchen and ensure all food is prepared in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, including meeting special dietary requirements.
- Assist with food preparation for on‑site provision and, where needed, other schools.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen equipment, kitchen areas and dining spaces.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or issues promptly.
- Accurately record meal numbers, including any changes or additional requirements.
- Support the safe, efficient service of meals during lunchtime, including supervising pupils in the dining area.
- Report any behaviour concerns to teaching staff in line with school expectations.
