Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic
Location: Worcester, Padmore Street, WR1 2PA
Contract: 39 hours per week, full time & permanent
Working Hours: 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern of early and lates
Hourly Rate: £18.76 per hour (£19.01 per hour if you are a PCV license holder) + enhanced weekend rate

About the Role
Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses across Worcester? We’re looking for skilled and forward‑thinking people to join our busy Engineering team. We offer technical up‑skilling and career progression, we'll also provide your PPE and basic tools you'll need to succeed in your role, as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits.
We are looking for NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Engineers – preferably in heavy vehicle or PSV mechanical maintenance, however we also welcome applications from ex‑Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
- Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
- Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using hand held data capture devices if applicable
- Attend on‑road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
- Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
About You
- Do you have a minimum of Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics?
- Do you have a flexible approach to working hours?
- Must have a valid UK driver's licence and the ability to obtain a PCV license (we will help you achieve this)
- Experience of working with buses, coaches or HGVs would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered
