We are looking for expressions of interest for a new Quest apprenticeship. The Data Analyst Quest apprenticeship is for colleagues who manage data and would like to gain further knowledge on how and what to analyse. If in your current role, you are involved in the following, then this apprenticeship could be for you:

  • Collecting, compiling and cleansing data
  • Identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in data sets
  • Drawing conclusions and recommending appropriate responses
  • Providing reports and analysis

In this apprenticeship you will learn about:

Upon completion of the programme, colleagues will be able to manipulate data, identify new patterns and trends, and present data in a visual way that supports decision making, problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Quest apprenticeships are aimed at colleagues who currently work for GWR, and give learners the opportunity to gain new skills, knowledge and behaviours that can be put into practice in the workplace and are a great development opportunity. Study is mainly online through our education partner Exeter College. There is no change to your terms and conditions, and you study alongside your current role.

What’s in it for me? Through studying this you will achieve the Level 4 BCS Data Analyst Apprenticeship. GWR apprentices say that they enjoy learning in adulthood, building their confidence and meeting colleagues all over the network, as well as having their work valued and analysed by highly rated Exeter College tutors. To support you, you will be allocated a GWR mentor.

The programme will be delivered by Ofsted Outstanding Exeter College through mainly online taught sessions. You will also have planned eight weekly reviews with your Skills Officer and GWR mentor to discuss progress and on programme support. The programme will be delivered mainly online, with some face-to-face sessions and will typically last 24 months. Once training has been concluded there will be an End Point Assessment where you will have the opportunity to showcase your work. Tutors from Exeter College will work with you and support you to prepare you for the End Point Assessment.

Functional Skills for maths and English are no longer mandatory, however can be undertaken with line manager agreement. Exeter College will continue to offer support where needed with maths and English throughout the apprenticeship.
