About the role
The Team Interface Manager at Paddington is a key colleague in the Driver Management team, focused on ensuring quick and efficient disposal of key tasks, as part of both business as usual, and ad‑hoc project work.
Responsibilities
- An interface between the Depot Manager and Driver Standards Manager team, to facilitate various safety processes.
- Ensuring that incident trends and learning points are cascaded to Drivers via various media.
- As the focal point for depot performance management, guiding the team to ensure accurate "delay attribution" is delivered.
- Liaising with the Driver Management team, collating data, so that performance goals are dealt with robustly and consistently.
- Pinpointing performance trends, you will feed them through the Performance management meeting structure.
- The depot single point of contact.
- You will communicate with other departments to ensure efficient and successful completion of driver training.
- To be the focal point for efficient and strategic deployment of career structure Drivers and Driver Managers.
- Arranging critical meetings for the Depot, while directing some meetings yourself.
Qualifications
- Effective at building close working relationships.
- A key part of the "face" of the operation of the team, dealing with day‑to‑day queries in a "front of house" role, directing Drivers to the right people to help.
- Able to play an important part in improving communication channels with Drivers, while ensuring that information displayed at the Depot is relevant, up to date and aligned with Depot Strategy.
- Are you able to deliver results and projects, while engaging with colleagues across multiple levels in the business?
- Are you able to arrange and conclude processes in a timely and professional manner, by whatever means required, also within safety critical parameters?
Who we’re looking for
- A highly organised colleague, able to work to deadlines, with the ability to communicate clearly over a variety of media.
- A colleague who is excellent at building and maintaining relationships with the Driver Depot Manager and Driver Standards Managers, as well as colleagues across various levels of the business, to ensure that all annual KPIs and goals are achieved.

- Do you have proven ability in focusing and delivering results, while able to motivate others?
Minimum qualifications
- Experience of delivering high performance in your current role.
- Experience of delivering training plans.
- Experience of working with Trade Unions.
- Experience of dealing with HR processes.
Additional Information
As this is an entry level management role in the Driver function, previous managerial experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience dealing with the GWR delay attribution process would be advantageous but not essential.
