Working as part of a dedicated and hardworking team who are responsible for the presentation of the GWR fleet. Ensuring the interior and exterior of our contracted trains are cleaned to a high standard to deliver comfort and a great experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Monitor performance of the cleaning team and support team members to develop and achieve full potential.
- Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships.
- Develop others' competencies to enhance performance.
- Actively participate in improving processes and safe operational flexibility.
- Deliver cleaning to the highest standards for our customers.
- Create and maintain the necessary safe conditions for work activity, complying with safety standards at all times.
Who we're looking for
- Able to demonstrate a proven track record in leading teams and working on your own initiative.
- Proven leadership qualifications.
- Able to complete tasks to a set standard and in accordance with specification/procedure to GWR standards.
- Committed and able to encourage a team to deliver cleaning to the highest standard.
- Enthusiastic and well organised in your approach towards work.
- Willing to deliver training to colleagues and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
As a minimum you'll need to have:
- An understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety at work.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience of using Word, Excel & Microsoft Outlook.
- Desire to want to learn new skills and develop.
- Hold a current driving licence.
- An NVQ level 1 or 2 in Cleaning and Support Services or working towards it.
Additional Information
This position is for 21 hours per week over an 8-week rota. As this position is part time, you and the other part time Team Leader will complete the 5 on 3 off shift pattern, this position is for 3 consecutive nights of the 5-night shift pattern. You will be the 5th Team Leader to help the cleaning Coordinator manage 32 train cleaners. Experience of cleaning is not essential for this role as training will be given; Leadership qualities and experience are essential, and you will be asked to demonstrate these skills at an interview.
