Join our Catering HQ team of eight managers, working together to enhance the GWR catering experience for our crews and customers. We focus on delivering safe, high-quality food and beverage offerings, reducing defects, and ensuring every customer journey is exceptional.
As an EPOS & On-Board Systems Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our On-Board teams by ensuring the effective operation, development, and performance of our point-of-sale (EPOS) systems and supporting processes. You will provide direct support to front-line teams both in person and remotely, ensuring EPOS systems are efficient, compliant, and enable excellent customer service. This role combines operational support, performance analysis, auditing, stakeholder collaboration, and financial oversight to drive sales, minimise waste, and enhance overall catering performance.
Responsibilities
- Produce scheduled and ad-hoc EPOS reports to drive sales performance, reduce waste, and support business decisions.
- Set up and maintain system users, products, promotions, barcodes, imagery, and allergen information.
- Create and maintain onboard performance dashboards and operational reporting.
- Support testing, development, and implementation of EPOS software and system updates.
- Conduct stock control and EPOS compliance audits in line with legislation and company standards.
- Support financial processes including VAT reporting, period-end tasks, voucher tracking, and incentive reporting.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure accurate system setup and deliver data requirements.
- Manage EPOS devices including audits, asset tracking, repairs, and replacement processes.
- Monitor catering and logistics performance, including stock ordering, delivery performance, and waste reduction.
- Provide EPOS support to onboard teams, including depot visits, training support, troubleshooting, and system guidance.
What weβre looking for
- Experience using and supporting EPOS systems and POS terminal management.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation skills.
- Experience using SAP BI or similar reporting and data tools.
- Knowledge of catering, retail, or hospitality operational environments.
- Understanding of auditing, compliance, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience working with performance metrics, budgets, and P&L awareness.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical background with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams while supporting operational staff.
- Must have back end EPOS system knowledge and experience.
The role is 37 hours per week and some weekends and overnights may be required so a 5 out of 7 working pattern predominantly Monday to Friday.
