About the job
You will be responsible for developing and implementing GWR\’s data and AI strategy for the organisation, ensuring alignment with both business and industry objectives. You\’ll be responsible for delivering data-led initiatives both internally and in alignment with industry partners through our ‘open data\’ commitments.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- To lead the development and implementation of GWR\’s Data and AI Strategy, working collaboratively with stakeholders, including to find solutions to data-related challenges.
- To work alongside internal and industry stakeholders to ensure the delivery of data-led initiatives to support our commitments to data sharing and open data across the industry.
- To help develop and nurture the data literacy of our people and teams.
- To enhance GWR\’s data capabilities and inform business decisions by providing accessibility and availability of data, information, and insights.
- To facilitate and coordinate data experts across the business, creating a community, to foster knowledge sharing and sharing best practice.
About you
You will be a skilled communicator who is able to communicate complex and or sensitive information to a wide range of internal and external audiences. You\’ll bring with you your expertise of MS Office 365 suite including MS Power Apps, Power BI and cloud-based platforms, and help drive both decision making and resolution of complex business problems through the use of insights and reporting.
What do I need?
Previous experience of working within a Data Science or Analytic role with complex and diverse stakeholder environment. You\’ll enjoy creating and documenting data strategies and working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to drive business efficiency and efficacy.
About the location?
The role is based in Swindon, but we welcome applications from across our Network. Due to the nature of the role, it will be necessary to travel across the network to meet internal and external stakeholders, for regular meetings with your line manager and for your personal development.
