This Role Is Not for Everyone
If you avoid difficult conversations, wait to be told what to do next, or struggle when challenged - this role will not suit you. If you enjoy ownership, solving problems, learning quickly and becoming commercially sharp - keep reading.
Who This Is For
You might be a graduate, a year or two into your career, or making a step up from customer service or a junior role. Your background matters less than how you operate.
What we’re actually looking for:
- You take initiative rather than waiting to be directed
- You stay composed when things get uncomfortable
- You ask good questions and act on the answers quickly
- You care about doing things properly, not just ticking boxes
- You don’t need agency experience. You do need to be ready to carry real responsibility within weeks, not months.
The Role - In Reality
You will manage your own portfolio of clients and be accountable for the quality of that relationship. These are UK small and medium businesses who have already chosen to invest in digital marketing with us - you are not responsible for sales.
You will:
- Onboard new clients once they have signed
- Clearly explain next stages and set expectations
- Understand their commercial goals
- Devise practical marketing plans
- Implement optimisation changes directly on their websites
- Analyse performance data
- Adjust strategy where required
- Handle concerns and difficult conversations confidently
This is not a purely advisory role - you will implement your own optimisation work. This is not a social media content role. The work is analytical, client-facing and commercially focused.
You will receive structured training. You are expected to absorb it quickly and apply it confidently. The goal is for you to manage your first client within one month.
What Success Looks Like After 3 Months
- You lead client calls confidently
- You manage expectations clearly
- You communicate professionally in writing and on the phone
- You take ownership of problems
- You ask for support early, not late
- Clients trust your judgement
The FirstFound Environment
We’ve been operating since 2000 - longer than most of our clients have been in business. That longevity isn’t accidental. It comes from being commercially straight with clients and holding ourselves to the same standards we hold our work.
We’re a small, capable team. There’s nowhere to coast and no one to carry passengers - but that also means your work is visible, your progress is real, and the people around you are genuinely good at what they do.
We support development by giving people responsibility earlier than they might expect, and then standing behind them when it gets difficult. Several of our current senior team started in roles like this one.
What We Expect
- Confidence in communication
- Emotional resilience
- Strong customer service instincts
- Personal accountability
- Commercial thinking
- A growth mindset
- Comfort using data to inform decisions
- Previous agency or account management experience is advantageous, but drive and maturity matter more.
What You Gain
- Clear development through responsibility
- Exposure to SEO, web and performance strategy
- £25,500 + performance bonus
- Private healthcare
- Pension
- Hybrid working (Mon, Tue, Fri office – Wed & Thu remote)
- Office days are structured around client communication and team collaboration – Monday to set the week, Tuesday for internal alignment, Friday to close out the week cleanly. Wednesday and Thursday are focused remote days for delivery work.
- Real client ownership and structured development from an established agency
Application Requirement
Please include: A brief example of a difficult situation you handled. What you learned from it. Generic applications will not be considered.
