We're on the hunt for a talented Fraud Investigator - Accidental Damage to join our Counter Fraud Services team in Salford Quays, Manchester on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Working as part of a growing and vibrant team, you'll be responsible for protecting the business and customers from the impact of fraud.
You'll be investigating a caseload of suspected fraudulent accidental damage claims by conducting telephone interviews with our customers to gather crucial information.
Collaborating with internal colleagues, stakeholders and third-party suppliers to evaluate and investigate evidence, enabling you to make an informed decision on each claim.
Core skills we're looking for
- Investigative: You'll be proficient in gathering and analysing evidence, interviewing customers and conducting thorough investigations.
- Analytical: You'll have an ability to analyse data to detect patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraud.
- Problem-solving: You'll think creatively and strategically to resolve complex claim cases.
- Negotiation: In some cases, fraud investigators may need to negotiate with suspects or other parties to obtain information or resolve issues.
Working flexibly, you'll spend the first 3 months in the office full-time for training and support, then hybrid begins with 4 days at home and 1 day in the office.
But if you prefer to be in the office more, that's good with us too.
What's Involved
- You'll manage a portfolio of suspected opportunistic and organised accidental damage fraud claims.
- You'll conduct telephone interviews with customers.
- You'll engage with external suppliers such as accident investigators, motor engineers, and key specialists.
- You'll conduct open source and desktop investigations using databases like CUE and HPI.
- You'll assess evidence such as police reports and engineering findings.
- You'll support telephony targets while providing professional customer service.
- You'll process payments on claims files within limits.
- You'll ensure accurate reserves on claim files.
- You'll meet fraud KPIs and targets.
- You'll ensure compliance with financial crime procedures.
- You'll comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times.
- You'll ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.
Experience & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of basic motor insurance fraud.
- Proven track record of managing caseloads with adherence to SLAs.
- Good knowledge of FCA Consumer Duty principles.
- Basic understanding of indemnity and ability to identify straightforward policy-related issues.
- Familiarity with fraud indicators.
- Ability to deploy and interpret Clear Speed results.
