The Junior Accountant is responsible for day‑to‑day management, accounting record‑keeping, and assisting the Finance Director and Regional Accountants in preparing the monthly management account packs. This role is integral to the business and will require a high level of attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Whilst the duties mainly cover the EMEA region, specifically the UK, wider exposure to the APAC region may be required where necessary. This role reports to the Finance Director and is expected to demonstrate autonomous work when necessary.

Your Contributions

  • Preparation of month‑end management accounting packs
  • Responsible for SAP invoice posting
  • Compile expense reporting and process expense journals
  • Preparation of entity‑level VAT return, ensuring tax compliance
  • Assist the Regional Accountants with month‑end and ad‑hoc requirements
  • Assist in completing daily bank reconciliations as required
  • Support with ad‑hoc audit requests

Managing Relationships and Operational Support

  • Build excellent relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to support FIRST’s internal teams (Event Delivery, Client Services, Business Analytics etc.).
  • Coordinate with the Global Controller, and align the year‑end audit process to obtain a clean audit.
  • Assist Tax and Accounting in regulatory filings (ex: Corp. Tax, VAT).
  • Manage up; raise and elevate potential concerns and successes to the Finance Director on a regular reporting basis.
  • Handle ad‑hoc requests from the business as and when required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience of at least 1 year in a similar role is required
  • Experience with using accounting software
  • Basic Excel knowledge
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Experience of using SAP By Design or other complex accounting software is highly desirable
  • High levels of detail and accuracy, and a detail‑oriented required
  • Ability to communicate well with non-financial as well as financial people
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer service
