Job Overview

FIRstr Bus is seeking a Trainee Bus Driver – Worcester to operate local bus services across Worcester and surrounding areas. This full‑time, permanent role offers guaranteed contracted hours and a clear progression path. No previous bus driving experience is required; a full UK driving licence and the right attitude will lead to successful completion of our training programme.

Responsibilities

  • Operate local bus services, helping passengers travel to work, education, appointments, shopping and leisure activities.
  • Provide a safe, professional and reliable customer‑facing service at all times.
  • Follow rota‑based schedules, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain and report on vehicle condition, ensuring safety and cleanliness for passengers.
  • Assist in passenger enquiries and support effective communication on the bus.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points on licence.
  • Minimum age 18 and right to work in the UK.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexible approach to shift work.
  • No PCV licence required – full training is provided.

Working Hours & Pay

The role offers a permanent, full‑time schedule with guaranteed contracted hours and structured rotas planned in advance for stability and predictability.

Pay starts at £14.00 per hour during training and increases to £15.00 per hour after one year of qualification. Overtime opportunities are available to increase earnings.
