Overview

This role is with First Travel Solutions and involves supporting rail replacement services.

Location: Newcastle – Darlington – Middlesbrough area

Salary: £12.60 per hour

Hours: Variety of shift times, including early mornings, evenings, late nights, and weekends on an annualised 10 hours minimum contract. This is a casual contract.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the safe and timely operation of rail replacement bus, events and coach services.
  • Ensure the safety of passengers, colleagues, the public and yourself.
  • Provide assistance and information to passengers and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Maintain high standards in data collection via the coordination portal and assist in maintaining high vehicle standards and regulatory auditing.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience of working in the transport industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to delivering consistently excellent customer service.
  • Confident in engaging drivers on regulations and adherence to PSVAR/PSVAIR.
  • Great communicator who is enthusiastic and approachable.
  • Patient, reliable and calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, with initiative.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shift times, including early mornings, evenings, late nights, and weekends.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a safety-critical role and is physically demanding. You will be on your feet for up to 12 hours, handling passenger luggage in all weather conditions, sometimes without shelter. You must also have access to your own transportation and be located within 10 miles of one of the key stations.
