Our client, an established engineering/renewable based company, is looking to hire a Technical Architect to work on an AI & Automation project for the business.
Location: Birchwood, Warrington
Duration: 6 Months - view to being extended
Rates: Competitive Hourly Rates - Inside IR35
Remote, with 2-days onsite travel - Site T&S will be expensed.
We're seeking an experienced Technical Architect with automation and AI experience to support the delivery of our Technology programme. You'll shape technical strategy, design scalable architectures, and ensure solutions align with business goals and enterprise standards. The key point with the job spec is that the resource we're searching for must be a Tech Architect first and foremost; automation expertise is the secondary pillar (not the other way around). Must be a sole UK national.
Responsibilities:
- Define scalable architectures, data flows, and system integrations
- Shape technical strategy aligned to business goals and standards
- High level technical architecture leadership across automation and AI programmes
- Design robust, future-proof solutions to meet evolving needs
- Evaluate emerging technologies and deliver proof-of-concepts
- Support full project lifecycle from concept to implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Identify and manage technical risks and dependencies
- Drive operational efficiency, automation, and reduce technical debt
- Support M&A through technical due diligence and system integration
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect across multiple technology domains
- Strong knowledge of frameworks such as ITIL, Prince2, TOGAF, and Archimate
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in matrixed environments and fast-paced delivery settings
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities
- Automation experience (e.g. Power Platform, UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere)
- AI knowledge including LLMs, Copilots, and Microsoft AI ecosystem
- Data platform experience (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Databricks)
- Broad enterprise technology exposure (ServiceNow, CRM, ERP, EUC, infrastructure, cloud)
- Solid understanding of Azure and cyber security frameworks (SIEM, XDR, NIST, ISO27001)
