Our client has a requirement for a Town Planner, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Barrow-in-Furness.
Role Purpose: Provide technical town planning expertise to support a major site regeneration programme, ensuring planning requirements are integrated into the project delivery and compliance with local legislation and policies.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications, consents, and approvals.
- Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders.
- Provide advice on planning legislation, land use, and development control matters.
- Support project teams by integrating planning requirements into schedules and project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate planning risks throughout the regeneration programme.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Proven town planning expertise, ideally with experience in site regeneration or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation, development control, and land use policies.
- Experience managing planning applications and liaising with local authorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable: Understanding of project management principles in multi-disciplinary projects.
Advantageous: Experience on industrial, defence, or manufacturing sites; awareness of environmental, heritage, and transport planning considerations.
