About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Quality Engineer to join our team within the nuclear sector. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, installations, and components meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance within a highly regulated environment. You will play a key role in maintaining nuclear safety standards, supporting quality assurance processes, and ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations and industry codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and verification of electrical installations in line with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear industry quality standards, including ISO 9001 and site-specific procedures.
- Review electrical drawings, test results, and certification documentation.
- Conduct audits of installation and commissioning activities.
- Support the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Identify non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Liaise with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant UK regulations (e.g. BS 7671 Wiring Regulations).
- Maintain accurate quality records and support internal and external audits.
- Compile and collate Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) in line with project and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture across all activities.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation).
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing).
- City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Proven experience in an electrical quality, inspection, or commissioning role.
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and electrical compliance requirements.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, defence, oil & gas).
