Job Description
Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Project: Heidelberg
Location: Stockton, moving to the project site (WALES) circa Q4 2026/Q1 2027
Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to extend
Role Overview:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide expert contract management and quantity surveying support for the project, covering Mechanical, Ductwork, Electrical, and Instrumentation work packages. The role requires extensive experience in both pre- and post-contract activities and a proven track record in procurement, contract execution, and financial management on large-scale engineering projects.
The role will start based in Stockton, with relocation to the Heidelberg project site expected around Q4 2026 / Q1 2027. The initial contract is for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Contract Activities:

Prepare and negotiate Non-Disclosure/Confidentiality Agreements.

Manage Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), Invitations to Tender (ITT), and associated evaluation processes.

Prequalify potential contractors, coordinating technical aspects where needed.

Lead commercial evaluations and compile award recommendations.

Prepare contract packages for signature, including securing bonds, guarantees, and insurances.

Chair kick-off, clarification, and bid evaluation meetings.
Post-Contract Activities:

Participate in pre-construction kick-off meetings and distribute minutes.

Maintain contractor correspondence, change registers, and track securities.

Provide contractual interpretation and advice on commercial impacts of project activities.

Ensure contractor compliance with contractual obligations and timely submission of deliverables.

Chair contractor progress meetings, trend reviews, and early warning sessions.

Review contractor applications and invoices, coordinating with other project disciplines.

Lead contractor performance evaluations and manage claims resolution.

Manage contract close-out activities, including final documentation and financial reporting.
Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale engineering projects.

Experience in Mechanical, Ductwork, Electrical, and Instrumentation construction work packages.

Knowledge of contract management, procurement, and commercial evaluation processes.

Familiarity with pre- and post-contract management, including tendering, bids, and contract close-out.
