Lead the delivery of a major highways infrastructure scheme from design through to construction and handover.
Our Client has a requirement for a Construction Manager , who will be required to work on a contract basis, working full time on site in Norfolk .
Role Purpose Working directly under the Project Director as part of the Senior Management Team, the Construction Manager will lead construction operations across all project phases, ensuring delivery is safe, efficient, right first time, on schedule and within budget.
Leading construction input throughout detailed design and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI).
Managing site investigations, surveys and mobilisation activities.
Ensuring constructability is embedded within the design process.
Managing engineering teams, subcontractors and construction delivery activities.
Driving high standards of safety, quality, programme and cost performance.
Supporting successful asset handover through the delivery of compliant construction records and documentation.
Job Role Responsibilities Ensure construction requirements are fully considered throughout detailed design.
Provide leadership across all construction activities, including investigations, surveys and mobilisation.
Deliver works in accordance with company procedures, standards and best practices.
Lead by example and champion a strong safety culture across the project.
Promote a Safe, Efficient, Right First-Time approach to minimise rework and maximise quality.
Manage engineering staff and coordinate effectively with project leadership teams.
Support the Project Director on all construction-related matters.
Provide planning and procurement support for construction activities.
Manage product control processes and subcontractor delivery.
Ensure permanent works and associated documentation meet required standards for operational handover.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications Essential 10+ years' experience in construction delivery within major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role such as Agent or Senior Agent.
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, standards and procedures.
Experience working within a Principal Contractor environment.
Knowledge and practical experience of Temporary Works procedures.
Behavioural Management training.
Demonstrable experience delivering high-quality construction works and associated documentation.
Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent vocational training.
Relevant CSCS Card.
SMSTS or equivalent Health
