Our client has a requirement for a Senior Civil & Structural Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Middlesbrough.
Role Purpose: To provide Senior Civil and Structural (Design) Engineering services, delivering high-quality design outputs for industrial projects, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and consultants, and ensuring compliance with UK standards and project requirements.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Civil and Structural design engineering for industrial projects
- Development of Civil and Structural specifications, reports, and calculations
- Preparation and authoring of technical reports and specifications
- Checking, approval, and verification of steelwork and foundation calculations
- Development of grading plans, cable ducts, drainage routes, hardstanding, and trenches
- Preparation of scopes of work and Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Liaison with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and architectural consultants
- Conduct site surveys and client visits as required
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Chartered status with a relevant UK professional body
- HND or higher in Civil & Structural Engineering
- Proven design experience in Chemical Plant, Industrial, Petrochemical, or Pharmaceutical buildings
- Hands-on experience on Industrial / Petro / Chemical / Pharmaceutical projects
- Proficiency in 3D Tekla Structures, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Advance Steel, or 3D AutoCAD (advantageous)
- Familiarity with Navisworks and 3D point cloud survey techniques (advantageous)
- Experience liaising with building control and compliance standards
- Knowledge of infrastructure adoptable standards
- Experience working with internal multi-disciplinary design teams and wider client teams
