We are seeking experienced MEICA Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of AMP8 projects across the North West. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle — from outline design through to commissioning and handover — within a collaborative and forward-thinking delivery environment. The position will involve a combination of office, remote and site-based working, supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality water infrastructure projects.

As a MEICA Project Engineer, you will work closely with designers, subcontractors, commissioning teams and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. You will play a key role in managing MEICA packages throughout design, procurement, manufacture, installation and commissioning phases. You will contribute to programme and budget development, support construction sequencing, monitor delivery performance and help drive a right-first-time culture across the framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote health, safety and wellbeing throughout all stages of project design and delivery
  • Manage MEICA packages including design coordination, installation and commissioning activities
  • Support HAZOP, HAZCON and other project review meetings
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to develop practical construction sequences, programmes and budgets
  • Coordinate with pre-construction and delivery teams to develop safe, compliant and efficient engineering solutions
  • Drive high-quality delivery standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders
  • Produce accurate project performance reports and implement mitigation strategies where required
  • Ensure permits, inspections, records and quality checks are completed in line with contractual requirements
  • Support collaborative working across the wider framework and supply chain teams
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience delivering MEICA packages across the full project lifecycle
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Good understanding of Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and safe systems of work
  • Knowledge of temporary works, lifting operations, commissioning and handover processes
  • Ability to interpret engineering technical standards and specifications
  • Experience managing subcontractors and package delivery
  • Solution-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to project delivery challenges
  • Strong commitment to quality and exceeding expectations
