Apply your electrical engineering expertise to support critical infrastructure maintenance within a highly regulated operational environment. Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Heathrow.

Role Purpose: Support electrical maintenance processes across a complex operational infrastructure environment. Develop and improve electrical maintenance procedures, risk assessments and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) documentation. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical regulations, industry standards and safety requirements. Assist with identifying maintenance gaps and implementing solutions to improve operational performance. Provide technical expertise in support of safe, reliable and efficient asset operation.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Work with site personnel to develop Electrical Maintenance Procedures, Risk Assessments and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) documentation.
  • Support the rollout and implementation of maintenance procedures across operational sites.
  • Identify gaps within existing maintenance processes and assist with planning corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical maintenance, installation requirements and best practices.
  • Ensure maintenance activities align with applicable industry regulations, standards and guidance.
  • Support compliance relating to hazardous area electrical installations and explosive atmosphere requirements.
  • Contribute to risk identification, assessment and management activities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote safe and effective maintenance practices.
  • Provide support and guidance on electrical safety, asset integrity and operational reliability.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering (apprenticeship routes may also be considered).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or evidence of working towards professional registration.
  • 5-10+ years' engineering experience within relevant or similar sectors.
  • Good knowledge of electrical design, maintenance working practices and installation requirements within aviation or comparable industries.
  • Knowledge of UK electrical legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Experience with hazardous area classification requirements and installations in potentially explosive atmospheres.
  • Understanding of bonding, earthing, inspection and testing requirements.
  • Experience with CE marking requirements for plant and equipment.
  • Knowledge of ATEX, Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive and EMC Compliance requirements.
  • Awareness of risk identification, quantification and management processes.
  • Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.

Desirable:

  • Experience with aviation fuel infrastructure, storage facilities, distribution systems or comparable operational environments.
  • Experience with Joint Inspection Group (JIG) standards and Energy Institute (EI) guidance.
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and associated industry standards.
  • Experience working within highly regulated or safety-critical environments.
