Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis across flexible UK locations.

Role Purpose: To lead and deliver electrical design solutions across major water and wastewater projects, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient engineering outputs while supporting multidisciplinary project delivery.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical design activities across the full project lifecycle
  • Produce and review technical deliverables including:
    • Single line diagrams
    • Load schedules
    • MCC / switchgear specifications
    • Control system architecture
  • Act as a technical authority for electrical engineering across projects
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, industry standards, and internal quality processes
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders
  • Support bid development, design reviews, and subcontractor management
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Manage design scope, budgets, risks, schedules, and quality outputs

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong experience within water, wastewater, or process engineering sectors
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Electrical power distribution systems
    • Control systems and automation
    • Integrated system design
  • Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and engineering standards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead design delivery and work collaboratively across teams

Desirable:

  • IEng / CEng (or working towards)
  • Previous leadership or senior-level experience
  • Experience mentoring or managing engineers
