About the Role
This role sits within the Project Engineering team and is responsible for delivering capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across manufacturing operations. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply specialist engineering knowledge to ensure CapEx projects are delivered to the correct technical and quality specifications.
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and resource plans.
- Manage and control project budgets, ensuring efficient and effective CapEx spend.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors, suppliers, and engineering partners.
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle, including:
- Capital approval processes
- Financial tracking (spend and forecast management)
- Project reporting
- Construction oversight
- Commissioning and validation
- Project close-out
Skills & Experience Required
- Time-served / apprentice trained engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering discipline) essential.
- HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or related discipline) highly desirable.
- Proven experience within FMCG manufacturing environments.
- Strong background in packaging, bottling, brewing, distillation, or other high-speed production environments.
- Experience delivering CapEx projects within live manufacturing facilities.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, compliance, and safe systems of work.
- Experience managing contractors and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong financial awareness with experience managing budgets and forecasts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Mechanical or Electrical Background.
