Our Client has a requirement for a Civil Structural Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in the Plymouth / Devonport area. To support the delivery of civil and structural engineering design activities on a major dockyard infrastructure programme. The role will assist the Design Manager and wider project team in developing, coordinating, and delivering technical design solutions across multiple infrastructure work packages within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of civil and structural design activities in line with project, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Assist in resolving technical queries related to design, fabrication, and construction issues.
  • Support risk identification and mitigation through effective communication and design input.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement activities within the project team.

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible for UK SC Security Clearance status.
  • Experience in civil and structural engineering design within infrastructure or heavy industrial projects.
  • Understanding of construction methods and installation techniques for structural works.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with engineering design processes, quality systems, and HSE requirements.
  • Proficient in relevant engineering software and design tools.
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering or relevant experience in lieu.
  • Experience in defence, nuclear, marine, or other regulated sectors advantageous.
