Lead Commercial Strategy on High-Profile Projects with a Long-Term Contract Opportunity. Our Client has a requirement for a Commercial Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Glasgow (Hybrid Working).

Role Purpose: Provide commercial management across complex contracts and deliver commercial best practice throughout project lifecycles. Lead commercial strategy, risk management, governance and contract compliance activities. Support project delivery teams with expert commercial guidance to achieve business and contractual objectives. Drive commercial performance while protecting business interests and managing contractual risk.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial expertise and guidance to project and commercial teams.
  • Lead the commercial management of contracts, projects and bids.
  • Develop and implement risk-based commercial strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial governance requirements and internal procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Support budget management, forecasting and commercial reporting activities.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex commercial and contractual matters.
  • Drive commercial awareness and best practice across project teams.
  • Lead, mentor and develop commercial personnel, promoting consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Provide commercial input into bid/no-bid decisions and support bid development activities.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of contract performance, commercial objectives and business targets.
  • Promote a positive culture focused on safety, wellbeing, inclusion and professional development.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Extensive working knowledge of NEC4, preferably within the Professional Services Contract (PSC) framework.
  • Strong commercial management experience across large, complex projects and contracts.
  • Degree qualified in Law, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing commercial strategies.
  • Experience managing commercial risk, governance and contractual compliance.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Experience providing commercial leadership on bids and contract delivery.
  • Previous people management and team leadership experience.
  • Ability to influence commercial outcomes and provide strategic commercial advice.
  • Knowledge of NEC contract forms and their practical application within project delivery environments.
  • Eligible to obtain or hold UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
  • British National due to project security requirements.
