Our Client has a requirement for a Senior EICA Engineer, who will be required to work on a staff basis in Derby.
Role Purpose: To deliver high-quality, cost-effective engineering design solutions across water and sewage treatment projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, health & safety standards, and project requirements. The role also involves coordinating multidisciplinary design activities to support successful project delivery.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Produce cost-effective design layouts considering full lifecycle costs (design, materials, construction, commissioning)
- Deliver and coordinate engineering design documentation and drawings
- Ensure use of standard practices to maintain efficiency and competitiveness
- Provide technical input and estimates to the Proposals team
- Develop, maintain, and improve departmental procedures and processes
- Coordinate designs across internal and external disciplines
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Support and drive customer satisfaction
- Assist in the supervision and development of junior engineers
- Promote and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance in all designs
- Contribute to reducing waste and improving efficiency across design activities
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of water and sewage treatment processes
- Experience managing or mentoring engineers within a design environment
- Degree or HND in a relevant engineering discipline (with significant experience)
- Professionally qualified (Chartered or working towards)
- Ability to produce efficient and economical design solutions
- Broad technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to present technical information clearly and confidently
- Good IT skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer status
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
