An opportunity has arisen for experienced Workshop Technicians (Mechanical Technicians) to join our team on a full-time permanent basis; based in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
The Role:
- Responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair and test of company and client owned Lifting equipment.
- Previous experience in a similar position is required.
- Ability to accurately identify various mechanical fittings and components.
- Knowledge of LOLER Regulations or LEEA Qualifications would be advantageous.
- Responsible for dismantling of Lifting and Manual Handling Equipment in accordance with company procedures and work instructions.
- Responsible for fault-finding and repair of Lifting and Manual Handling Equipment.
- Responsible for testing of Lifting and Manual Handling Equipment.
- Responsible for the fault finding, repair & re-certification of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, jacks, torque tools, bolt tensioners, hydrotest pumps, puller kits, crimpers and cutters, nut splitters, flange spreaders.
- Evaluate results of fault-finding, ensuring original components are replaced/installed in accordance with applicable specification and procedure.
- Produce a clear and concise report of components repaired/replaced installed in accordance with applicable specification and procedure.
- Responsible for ensuring duties in Wash Bath & Blast machine are carried out as per company procedures when required.
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment is painted in accordance with company procedures.
- Populate certificates with equipment details ensuring information is correct and signed off.
- Responsible for ensuring all finished products comply with company procedures & are packaged for shipment/storage.
- QC of mechanical equipment upon completion of service/testing when required.
- Liaise with Team Lead/Supervisor regarding any issues with meeting customer needs and delivery schedules.
- Responsible for accurate completion of Route Cards.
- Responsible for the operation of hydraulic presses as per company procedures and processes.
- Provide support and carry out employee training as directed by the Workshop Team Lead/Rentals Supervisor as necessary.
- Assist with any other duties as and when required.
Your Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- Previous experience within a similar position/Mechanical environment.
- Ability to interpret Mechanical System Drawings and Mechanical Engineering Drawings/plans.
- Ability to evaluate component condition.
- The ability to accurately identify various mechanical fittings and components.
- Preferred:
- Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
- Knowledge of LOLER regulations or LEEA Qualifications.
- Previous industry experience.

- Willingness to train and/or support less experienced technicians.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle heavy items (up to 20kg).
