About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading UK contractor, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team delivering a series of complex and high-profile projects within Faslane Naval Base. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term programme of works across refurbishment, civil engineering, and marine infrastructure sectors — all within one of the country’s most secure and strategically important sites. We are looking for individuals ideally with NEC experience. On offer is a salary up to £60k plus car allowance, bonus, accommodation provided alongside an extremely generous tax free subsistence allowance for anyone staying away from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing commercial and contractual aspects of multiple live projects from procurement through to final account.
- Preparing and managing budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
- Administering subcontracts, including payments, variations, and change management.
- Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure financial control and value for money.
- Supporting the commercial team with forecasting, risk management, and reporting.
About You
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Chartered (MRICS) or working towards professional accreditation (desirable).
- Proven experience working for a main contractor within the infrastructure or defence sector.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, cost management, and commercial processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a secure, regulated environment (security clearance will be required).
