First Task Professional, established in 2022, is a highly focused and energetic Recruitment Consultancy that has quickly established itself as a leading name within the Scottish construction recruitment sector. Our Directors have over 30 years of experience within the construction industry and bring a wealth of knowledge and relationships with clients and candidates alike.
You will be joining a business with exceptional relationships with our clients, including a large number of UK wide PSL agreements in place with Tier 1 building, civil engineering, residential and specialist sub-contractors, as well as great relationships with a vast number of high-performing SME construction businesses. Over the past 12 months, we have made great strides with our International recruitment division and now operate across mainland Europe (Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Finland, Poland, Netherlands) as well as Dubai / UAE. We are a business with plenty of room to grow and will offer our people great opportunities as the business continues onwards and upwards.
We are looking to add to our team with like-minded, energetic and ambitious individuals and are actively recruiting a Graduate Recruitment Consultant to join us for our next stage of growth.
The role: During the first 3-6 months in the business, you will be immersed in the world of recruitment and will be given the opportunity to fully understand our business (including internal processes and CRM), the construction sector, and most importantly our candidates. You will be responsible for supporting the wider team in sourcing new candidates for various vacancies the team is actively working on. This will bring you the confidence to understand the various disciplines and job responsibilities, as well as gain a better understanding of candidates' drivers and motivations for seeking new roles. You will use our CRM, networks and other online tools to pre-screen candidates before shortlisting against vacancies, collating information prior to submission against vacancies. You will also be tasked with database management, meeting candidates, obtaining working references and creating candidate plans of action for active talent. Once your industry knowledge is at a competent level, you will start building relationships with our existing client base and be given the freedom to influence and control the recruitment process from cradle to grave (through the support and guidance of the senior team).
What we are looking for:
- Exceptional communication skills with a natural ability to build rapport, influence and sell
- High levels of professionalism, confidentiality and a hard-working team player
- Strong organisational, multi-tasking and prioritising skills
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility
- Resilient and able to handle pressure
- Self-motivated with a goal-oriented mindset
- Hungry and ambitious to make money
- Recent university graduate
- A basic understanding of construction
- Driver's license
What's in it for you:
- A competitive salary and market leading reward to make decisions, to genuinely feel and be empowered.
- Working with a forward-thinking, energetic employer who is new to the market with ambitious but achievable growth plans.
- Joining us at a time when there are genuine long-term career succession opportunities not only in Scotland but across the UK.
- Working with a team that has an unrivalled reputation across the building & civil engineering recruitment sector in Scotland.
- Access to LinkedIn Premium.
- Annual holiday trips abroad with the team (Portugal this September for sun, relaxation and perhaps a spot of golf).
- Plenty of social events for team building.
