First Task Professional are currently recruiting for a number of experienced Freelance General Foremen on behalf of established civil engineering and infrastructure contractors delivering projects across Ayrshire, Edinburgh and Central Scotland. These opportunities are available on a freelance basis and offer the chance to work on a variety of civils projects including power, infrastructure, and earthworks.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day supervision of site operations and workforce
  • Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme
  • Monitoring quality standards and compliance requirements
  • Work closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and Engineers
  • Conducting site briefings, inspections and toolbox talks
  • Managing plant, materials and site logistics
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture on site

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a General Foreman within civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site procedures
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid certification advantageous
