First Steps at Cansfield Nursery, based at Cansfield High School, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team. Working 37 hours per week in out 0-3 unit, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing early‑years environment where every child’s development and wellbeing is at the heart of what we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of children — including those with additional needs — ensuring their safety, wellbeing and access to stimulating learning activities.
- Establish and maintain an engaging, age‑appropriate play and learning environment.
- Support the implementation of agreed work programmes with individuals and small groups.
- Promote positive behaviour, maintain good order and ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation.
- Work collaboratively with the Nursery Manager and the wider team to deliver high‑quality childcare and early education.
Essential Qualification & Experience
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent is essential.
- Experience working within an early years setting.
- Confidence in supporting children with a range of needs.
