First Step Sports Group is looking for passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Sports Coaches. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children by helping them discover the joy of sport and physical activity. We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Sports Coaches to deliver PE and sports sessions in primary schools. You will work with the same groups of children each term, helping them progress and develop their skills through structured, engaging lessons. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, adaptable, and passionate about working with young people in educational settings. Please note, this is not a full-time position.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality PE lessons and a variety of sports to primary-aged pupils
- Build positive relationships and maintain discipline in sessions
- Complete lesson administration and assessments
- Develop and adapt schemes of work to meet pupil needs
- Create an exciting and inclusive learning environment
- Be flexible, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement
- Represent First Step Sports professionally at all times
- Travel to various schools and venues across the Yorkshire region
- Support the promotion of other First Step Sports Group services
- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching/coaching young people
- Experience planning and delivering structured lessons
- Interest in delivering a broad PE curriculum (e.g. Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics, Dance)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience conducting risk assessments
- Experience working with a range of age groups
- GCSEs in Maths and English
- First Aid and Child Protection training (desirable)
- Committed to ongoing professional development
- A Level 2 Coaching Qualification is a mandatory requirement for this position
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are essential, as travel to multiple locations is required
