The Position

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join us as a Level 4 Sports Coach Apprentice. You'll work alongside our experienced PE and coaching team, gaining hands-on experience delivering sessions in primary schools while working towards a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification, fully funded and supported by First Step Sports Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and, in time, lead the delivery of PE and sports sessions to primary school pupils
  • Complete apprenticeship coursework and assessments alongside on-the-job learning
  • Assist with lesson planning, pupil assessment and session administration
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, school staff and parents
  • Travel to various schools and venues across the Hull area

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for sport, dance and working with children
  • Previous coaching experience
  • A level 2 coaching qualification or Level 2 NVQ
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 4 coaching qualification
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (or willingness to work towards Functional Skills)
  • Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to learning
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport as travel between sites is required

The recruitment process consists of three stages: a telephone interview, a practical assessment, and a face-to-face interview. Successful candidates must be available for a training course late August.
