Our 18-month Level 4 Sports or Dance Coach Apprenticeship is structured around your individual development needs, ensuring you receive the best possible training. You will learn how to coach to the highest standards, working with children and young people of all ages, and have the chance to put your new knowledge into practice straight away.

First Step Physical Education, part of the First Step Sports Group, are specialists in the planning, organisation, delivery, and assessment of Primary School PE, delivering quality PE and sports offerings to schools across the Yorkshire region. The Position
We are seeking a Level 4 Sports or Dance Coach Apprentice (30 hours per week) who is eager to develop a long-term career in the sports and dance coaching industry. Through training and mentoring, you will advance your skills and experience, learning school curriculum expectations and requirements, gaining the knowledge to teach and coach to exceptional standards. This role requires someone already qualified to level 2 coaching standard, or equivalent Dance qualification, who is passionate, creative, and ambitious, ready to nurture children and young adults to live healthy and active lifestyles. A Level 2 Coaching Qualification/Equivalent Dance Qualification/L2 Apprenticeship is a minimum requirement for the role.

Responsibilities:
- Achieve development aims as dictated by your training schedule.
- Complete compulsory qualifications.
- Complete all lesson paperwork and admin.
- Deliver fun, engaging, and educational lessons.
- Assist with the development and organisation of projects and schemes of work.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
- At least 1 year’s experience working in a school environment (desirable).
- NVQ Level 2 in activity leadership or PE and School Sport or equivalent Dance Qualification/level 2 Coaching Badge.
- Basic written and numeracy skills.
- IT literate.
- Self-motivated and committed; wanting to perform to a high standard at work.
- A proven track record in completing an NVQ qualification (desirable).
- Ability to diversify and deliver multi-sports activities.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to regularly travel within the UK but mainly within the local area.
- Full Driving Licence and own vehicle is essential for this position.
