We're looking for enthusiastic Dance Coaches to join us in Hull on a casual, flexible-hours basis from September 2026, delivering engaging dance sessions in primary schools. Competitive rates of pay.

First Step Physical Education, part of the First Step Sports Group, specialises in the planning, organisation, delivery and assessment of Primary School PE, delivering quality PE and sports offerings to schools across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Dance Coaches to deliver engaging, high-quality dance sessions in primary schools across Hull, East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire. You will work with the same groups of children each term, helping them build coordination, confidence and a love of performing arts. This role is ideal for someone confident, adaptable and passionate about working with young people – please note this is a casual role, not full-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality dance sessions to primary-aged pupils
  • Build positive relationships and maintain a safe, structured environment
  • Complete lesson administration and pupil assessments
  • Develop and adapt schemes of work across a range of dance styles
  • Represent First Step Sports professionally at all times
  • Travel to various schools and venues across Hull, East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • A dance qualification (or equivalent Level 2 coaching qualification) – mandatory
  • Minimum one year's experience teaching/coaching young people
  • Interest in delivering other areas of the PE curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics)
  • GCSEs in Maths and English
  • First Aid and Child Protection training (desirable, training available)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport

The recruitment process consists of three stages: a telephone interview, a practical assessment, and a face-to-face interview.
