We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Active Care Assistant to support our Morning and After School Clubs, helping to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for all children. As an Assistant, you will help deliver a range of creative, play-based activities that inspire and entertain children aged 4–11 years. Working closely with the Club Lead, you will support the smooth running of the sessions, promote positive behaviour, and help foster warm, supportive relationships with children, parents, and school staff.
This role calls for someone who is creative and passionate about providing exceptional care. You’ll bring energy and imagination to every session, creating a safe and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. We’re looking for someone who can help create a welcoming atmosphere for parents and an exciting, play-filled environment for children, while supporting the smooth running of both our morning and after-school clubs. If you have childcare experience, a relevant qualification, and enjoy being creative and playful with children, this could be the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the day-to-day operation of the Morning and After School Clubs.
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all children in your care.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and professionals to support every child’s development.
- Assist with queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Promote the clubs within the school and local community.
- Assist with the preparation and serve a light breakfast/tea for children attending the Active Care sessions.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Experience in a similar environment (wraparound care/holiday clubs).
- Experience in EYFS (planning activities & experience assisting an Out of School Club or Sport Club) - (Desirable).
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Level 2/3 childcare or Play-work qualification (Desirable).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene (Training can be provided).
- Be available five days a week (Mon-Fri).
- First aid (Training can be provided).
