The Company: First Step Physical Education, part of the First Step Sports Group, are specialists in the planning, organization, delivery, and assessment of Primary School PE, delivering quality PE and sports offerings to schools across Yorkshire. First Step Physical Education is passionate about delivering high quality physical education, professionalism and achieving our vision of becoming Yorkshire’s largest, most respected Physical Education provider.
The Position: We are seeking Dance Coaches with experience teaching dance and sports activities to young people, through PE delivery in education settings, working to our delivery standards whilst teaching the same children each term, progressing, and assessing their skills. This role requires an individual who is confident, knowledgeable, and versatile with the ability to engage young people.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver PE lessons and a variety of dance and sports to primary school aged pupils
- Be assertive and respected by pupils
- Lesson administration
- Developing adapting schemes of work
- Provide an exciting learning experience
- Be versatile and committed to learning
- Be reliable and flexible
- Demonstrate professionalism to clients
- Travel to various locations and settings in the Yorkshire region
- Assist in the promotion of other First Step Sports brands
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Level 1 coaching badge or dance equivalent
- Level 2 coaching badge or dance equivalent
- 1 years teaching experience
- Experience delivering sports (desirable - training can be provided)
- Experience creating and following lesson plans
- An interest in delivering other areas of the PE Curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics)
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Risk Assessment experience
- Experience working with a variety of ages
- GCSE Maths and English
- First Aid and Child Protection Training - Desirable
- Committed to continuous professional development
