We're looking for enthusiastic Sports Coaches to join us on a casual, flexible-hours basis from September 2026, delivering engaging PE and sports sessions in primary schools. Competitive rates of pay.

The Company

First Step Physical Education, part of the First Step Sports Group, specialises in the planning, organisation, delivery and assessment of Primary School PE, delivering quality PE and sports offerings to schools across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coaches to deliver engaging, high-quality PE and sports sessions in primary schools across Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. You will work with the same groups of children each term, helping them progress and develop their skills. This role is ideal for someone confident, adaptable and passionate about working with young people – please note this is a casual role, not full-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons and a variety of sports to primary-aged pupils
  • Build positive relationships and maintain a safe, structured environment
  • Complete lesson administration and pupil assessments
  • Develop and adapt schemes of work to meet pupil needs
  • Represent First Step Sports professionally at all times
  • Travel to various schools and venues across Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • A Level 2 Coaching qualification (or equivalent) – mandatory
  • Minimum one year's experience teaching/coaching young people
  • Interest in delivering a broad PE curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics, Dance)
  • GCSEs in Maths and English
  • First Aid and Child Protection training (desirable, training available)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport

The recruitment process consists of three stages: a telephone interview, a practical assessment, and a face-to-face interview.
