Based in Yorkshire, with an expanding network of experienced team members located across the region, the business is comprised of several divisions, each specialising in a different area of physical activity development and delivery: First Step Physical Education, First Step Training, First Step Cycle, Ballers, Active Care and Kids Takeover.
The Position
We are seeking for an organised and enthusiastic before and afterschool assistant who can provide a range of play-based and sports activities for children in our childcare provision during term-time. This role requires an individual who is confident, knowledgeable, and versatile with the ability to engage young people and you will ideally have experience of working with Primary School children aged 4-11 years. You will be friendly and approachable and will be able to work creatively to develop a stimulating and exciting environment.
- Morning Clubs run Monday to Friday: 7:30am - 8:45am
- Ad hoc cover for Afterschool club runs Monday - Thursday: 2:50pm - 5:45pm
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the day to day running of the provision
- Providing an excellent Customer experience and Customer liaison
- The safeguarding of all children
- Building links with parents, carers and professionals to promote the well-being of all children
- Act as 1st point of contact for queries/complaints
- Promoting the provision within the provision location
- Providing a light tea for the Active Care participants
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
- Holds a Level 2 coaching badge (Desirable)
- Knowledge and passion for a variety of sports (Desirable)
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Level 2/3 childcare or Play-work qualification (Desirable)
- Level 2 Food Hygiene (Training can be provided)
- Paediatric first aid (Training can be provided)
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements for after school clubs, and an awareness of health and safety, and practical hygiene issues - (Training can be provided)
