This role is responsible for providing application support across a range of business-critical systems for internal users, other IT teams, and external clients. In addition to core operational support, the role actively contributes to automation, cloud-native platform support, and data-related operational improvements.
Your experience
- Experience in investment management (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrated experience of programming, scripting, automation or low-code platforms with a strong interest in reducing manual operational effort.
- Strong knowledge of web-based technology networks.
- Solid understanding of SQL and ability to write basic SQL queries to troubleshoot and correct data issues.
- Experience supporting or working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Exposure to data-centric platforms, operational data pipelines, or data quality monitoring is desirable.
- Comfortable working across both BAU support and improvement initiatives.
- Customer service champion with a genuine interest in helping people.
- Demonstrated understanding of databases and data modelling.
- Service Management experience including any ITIL certification desirable.
Provide end-user support across a range of business-critical applications, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed SLAs. Act as a Subject Matter Expert and service owner for assigned applications, building and maintaining strong functional and technical knowledge. Manage incidents and problems end to end, leveraging AI-enabled tooling where possible for incident detection, triage, root cause analysis, and knowledge discovery, while troubleshooting technically complex issues, minimising business impact, and preventing recurrence. Take responsibility for the investigation and resolution of complex or high-impact support issues, proactively identifying risks or emerging concerns and ensuring timely resolution to minimise impact to the business. Maintain system stability through the consistent application of IT Service Management best practices. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements, IT needs, and application risks. Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors to support service delivery and issue resolution. Participate in risk, compliance, and assurance activities, including audits, supplier risk assessments, and control testing. Prepare and maintain system maintenance plans, upgrade schedules, and related technical documentation. Act as a technical resource for internal and external projects, including coordination across local and global teams where required. Reduce key person risk through cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation, reporting, and automated self-service solutions. Work with support, development, and data teams to evolve operational processes using automation, AI-enabled tooling, and monitoring to improve service effectiveness. Support and enhance Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps and Power Automate workflows. Assist with the support and monitoring of Azure/cloud-native services, integrations, and scheduled processes. Work closely with Data Engineering and Application Development teams on data-related operational support, and job monitoring.
