Are you an experienced Engineer looking for a new and exciting challenge? We're currently looking for an Engineer to be based at Edgware garage. This position will be essential to maintaining exceptional services at First Bus London as you will conduct routine vehicle inspections and servicing.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring compliance with Health and safety requirements – conducting reactive maintenance and repair using a full range of diagnostic equipment and techniques
  • React promptly to issues raised by the operations staff and undertake repairs on engines, transmissions, chassis, braking and electrical systems
  • Build strong relationships with drivers and operations staff to ensure a smooth-running service
  • Prioritising your workload to ensure operational efficiency

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience working in the bus, coach, light or HGV industry as a mechanical engineer
  • A NVQ level 3 or equivalent in vehicle mechanical engineering
  • Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • A full and current driving licence
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Previous use of OEM diagnostic test equipment to interpret fault codes, identify and repair faults on a vehicle system
  • Up to date knowledge of DVSA PSV inspection standards and regulations
  • Proven experience in maintaining one or more bus suppliers (Desirable)
