We are looking for a People Services or HR Shared Services Advisor to join a national charity that supports people making positive life changes. Due to an existing project go live date you must be able to start this role on Monday 13th July 2026 at the latest. With over 8000 employees, this is a very busy human resources team and a new structure for the people/HR shared services team.

The role is handling volume advisory queries such as sickness, policies i.e. maternity, paternity, support and action plans etc. You will also be responsible for triaging and escalating the higher-level queries (gross misconduct, suspension etc) to the People Shared Service Specialists.

As HR/People Shared Services Advisor you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR and employment relations queries
  • Provide advice on low-level ER cases including sickness, absence, maternity/paternity, policies and support plans
  • Manage and respond to a high volume of HR queries with clear service levels
  • Triage complex ER issues and escalate to People Shared Services Specialists
  • Support on disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees
  • Maintain accurate records on HR systems and shared service platforms

Skills & experience required:

  • Experience is key and you’ll need to come from a background in HR advisory with volume enquiries (having worked in an organisation with at least 2000 employees)
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and UK HR best practice is essential
  • You must be able to interview quickly and will need to be available to start on Monday 13th July 2026 due to existing project deadlines and go live dates

Salary, hours and company benefits:

  • £32,802 starting salary
  • Full time, 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday
  • A fully remote role with the exception of travelling to and working from an office a few times a month, with a choice between Brighton, London and Manchester
