An EPC Company supplying turnkey process plants to improve raw material efficiency in the Aluminium Industry requires a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Chesterfield.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified Chemical Engineer.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in a projects role or working within the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Experience of applying mass & energy balances in industry or in process design roles.
  • Proficient in pressure drop calculations and selecting pumps or fans.
  • Performing sizing calculations and/or operational experience of Heat Transfer equipment.
  • Involvement in projects or plants with powder handling equipment.
  • Mapping a process and constructing process flow diagrams.
  • Developing P&ID’s and layout sketches.
  • Writing scopes of work for equipment vendors and plant installation contractors.
  • Has interfaced with control systems by defining interlock schedules and specifying the logic for sequence operations.
  • Has attended Hazard Studies including HazOp’s and has used a Management of Change system to document process engineering modifications.
  • Defining the sequence of operations in a plant or process and writing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carrying out risk assessments.
  • Can show experience of using a structured approach in solving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of solid-liquid separation technology.
  • Previous plant commissioning experience.
