Overview

Position: Telecoms Consultant
Location: Leatherhead – 5 days in the office
Rate: Outside IR35 DOE
Duration: 6 months
Project: Major Middle East Oil & Gas Development

We are seeking an experienced Telecoms Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex telecommunications systems for a major onshore oil and gas project. The role involves developing technical specifications, preparing documentation, and performing evaluations for a range of telecom systems.

Key Systems

  • LAN/WAN networks
  • Fibre optic cable systems
  • CCTV systems
  • Access control systems
  • Public Address General Alarm (PAGA) systems
  • PABX and hotline systems
  • Wireless, microwave, and TMR radio systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, reliability, and quality standards are met across all telecom systems.
  • Produce block diagrams, schematic diagrams, cable schedules, datasheets, interconnection/wiring diagrams, cabinet general arrangement drawings, material take-offs (MTOs), and layout drawings.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports, drawings, and schedules for onshore oil and gas installations.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in greenfield and brownfield telecoms projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • Hands-on experience with telecom systems engineering for onshore installations.
  • Familiarity with Middle East oil and gas projects is essential.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale international projects preferred.
