The Role
We are looking to recruit a motivated Technical Architect or Technologist to join our Manchester or Glasgow team for the architectural design of industrial projects in a multidisciplinary team. This role is for a manufacturing facility in the northwest.
Experience in the Defence sector would be useful but not essential if the candidate has experience in delivering large-scale industrial projects.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic, technical-focussed Architect or Technologist with good knowledge and experience in the design of buildings and facilities housing industrial processes. This will include from inception to completion, with emphasis on RIBA Stages 2 to 4.
You will be ARB registered or a chartered member of CIAT, with demonstrable experience on a wide range of complex and industrial projects at different stages with a good understanding of the UK Building Regulations.
You will:
- Understand the design process with the ability to deliver this from concept into detail design.
- Understand how to work as part of a multi-discipline team, ensuring design co-ordination, interface resolution, clash and coordination detection on behalf of the project and reporting on model coordination issues.
- Demonstrate a range of drawing, modelling and interpersonal skills to engage, influence and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders. You will help our multidisciplinary team solve complex problems.
- Be able to produce, analyse and advise upon specification, materials selection and detailed design solutions in relation to performance and production criteria, as well as proficiently use NBS software packages.
- Be a very competent Revit user with experience of delivering to BIM level 2 and experienced in advanced collaboration software (such as Navisworks), federation of BIM models, model checking, clash and interface management.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, be organised and efficient with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively, efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Take a flexible approach to working with a positive and \’can-do\’ attitude, be a self-motivated and committed individual, who is a clear thinker and a strong team player.
- Hold, or be vetted for, BPSS clearance prior and/ or be prepared
