A Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer (Subsea Specialist) is required to work on a long term contract basis based in Basingstoke that will offer the flexibility to work from home 12 days per month which you can use as you wish.
Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities
The candidate will be part of the UK Materials & Corrosion team and will work with the MACO PDL in supporting the review of SURF deliverables from multiple contractors as part of a competitive FEED.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Project discipline management: Planning of activities and the review of deliverables.
- Recording comments within the ASSAI document management tool
- Periodical reporting of progress
- Working with Pipelines, Subsea, Offshore Structures, supporting the review of the deliverables for:
- Material Selection
- Welding & NDT
- Painting & Coating
- Insulation
- Chemical Selection (corrosion inhibitors)
Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the position
- Relevant Materials & Corrosion Degree.
- Experience with Materials & Corrosion requirements for a SURF FEED.
- Deep knowledge in at least one of the following areas, and general knowledge in the others, as well as familiarity with applicable international standards (DNV, API, ISO, NORSOK, EEMUA, ASME, ASTM, etc):
- Corrosion mechanisms (H2S, CO2, halides, O2, etc).
- Subsea material selection and corrosion control.
- Cathodic protection design.
- Welding & NDT.
- Anticorrosion coatings and insulation systems.
