2 Senior Process Engineers are required to be based in Barrow-in-Furness on a long term contract basis
As the Senior Process Engineer, you will have proven experience across onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, maintenance, and asset integrity practices.
Job Overview
Purpose Statement
Provides high-quality process engineering support ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Morecambe Hub process systems and equipment.
Accountabilities
- Provide process engineering support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Morecambe Hub process systems.
- As the Senior Process Engineer, you will monitor and optimise process performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, energy use, and production reliability.
- Support asset operations by troubleshooting equipment issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (ASME, API, ISO, local regulations, company standards).
- As the Senior Process Engineer, you will support inspection, testing, and condition monitoring programs to maintain asset integrity and extend equipment life.
- Provide technical input to capital projects and modifications, including specifications, design reviews, and commissioning activities.
- Review and approve process work scopes, job packs, and method statements for execution.
- Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to technical and contractual requirements.
- As the Senior Process Engineer, you will support turn around, commissioning, and start-up activities as required
- Participate in safety studies and risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZIDs, LOPA) and implement safeguards and improvements.
- Support change management processes by assessing impacts of operational or design changes.
- As the Senior Process Engineer, you will prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, datasheets, calculations, and operating/maintenance procedures.
- Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.
- Any other associated duties as reasonably required.
Competence & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Proven experience with onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, maintenance, and asset integrity practices.
- As the Senior Process Engineer, you will have strong knowledge of process equipment used in oil and gas production facilities, including compression, dehydration, nitrogen removal, sweetening and condensate stabilisation.
- Offshore safety case and permit-to-work systems
- Industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, DNV where applicable)
Qualifications
- As the Senior Process Engineer, you will be educated to degree level, ideally MEng in Chemical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer preferable
