I am delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the UK energy sector, seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a Power business in North Wales. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant power infrastructure programmes, supporting long-term security of energy supply.
You will join an established project delivery team. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, operations, and asset management teams to ensure that project and regulatory requirements are fully met. The employer operates a power generation plant in North Wales, which plays a critical role in providing flexible, reliable storage and generation to support the UK electricity network. The business is currently delivering a substantial refurbishment programme to ensure continued performance for decades to come.
You will be a highly experienced electrical engineer with:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and site-based teams.
- The capability to review, assess, and manage design information from contractors.
- Strong technical knowledge of plant, equipment, and systems within power generation or heavy industrial processes.
- Experience in electrical inspection and testing requirements.
- Electrical commissioning experience, including FAT & SAT testing.
- Proficiency with basic IT tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
- LV/MV switchgear and distribution systems (IEC standards).
- Electrical protection systems.
- Contract management and budget/programme control.
- Managing refurbishment or upgrade projects.
- Basic PLC/control system knowledge.
The successful applicant will support the Project by:
- Reviewing electrical design documentation from contractors.
- Working with BAU engineering and operations teams to collate and update design information.
