Brand new role for a Principal EC&I Engineer based in Warrington with hybrid working!

Location: Warrington – Hinton House (minimum 3 days per week, occasional travel to Cumbria)

Security Clearance: BPSS minimum, SC preferred

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Principal EC&I Engineer to lead a team of CE&I engineers and designers supporting Sellafield Ltd’s Site Management Project Office (SMPrO). This role involves delivering high-quality, compliant EC&I designs across the SMPrO portfolio, which focuses on asset-care, refurbishment, and multidisciplinary design projects at Sellafield. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring Sellafield experience and a strong technical background. Occasional site visits to Cumbria may be required (T&S covered).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of CE&I engineers and designers.
  • Deliver EC&I designs across a broad range of services, including radiological and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Manage work packages delivered by the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with engineers, specialists, utilities, and project teams to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Present technical information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with Sellafield standards, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience working at Sellafield.
  • Broad experience in EC&I design.
  • Experience with radiological and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Experience in fast-paced project environments.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts.
  • Ability to work closely with engineers to deliver compliant design outputs.
  • Experience managing supply chain-delivered packages of work.
  • Skilled at presenting technical information to varied audiences.

Desirable Qualifications

  • BEng Degree
  • IEng/CEng
