Our Client has a requirement for a Passive Fire Protection Specialist, who will be required to work on an initial 12 month contract basis in Heathrow.

Role Purpose:
The individual will be required to work within the Telecoms design team based at Heathrow Airport. As part of this role you will input the associated passive fire protection elements into a co-ordinated design for IT in Construction projects. These projects design and install all aspects of IT related devices and structured cabling.
The role will be hands on, and will require to be based at Heathrow minimum 3 days a week.
Job Role Responsibilities:
As part of the overall designs you will be responsible for manging & co-ordinating the passive fire protection (fire stopping) elements into the overall ICS/IT in Construction designs working alongside fire engineers, specialist fire engineering organisations, and fire stopping manufactures to develop co-ordinated designs for fire stopping and see them through to installation.
Developing Building Works in Connection (BWIC) process for managing new penetrations
Managing and co-ordinating survey teams
Co-Ordination with Building control
Ensuring designs are compliant with Building Regulations
Working with our supply chain to develop proposals for the installation
The individual will have the ability to develop and implement new processes & drive best practice within a large team
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to designing or specifying passive fire protection products and/or have worked within a fire engineering organisation
Experience with the installation of passive fire protection
Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Regulations
Experience with passive fire protection manufactures products such as Hilti, Quelfire, Rockwool etc
Qualifications in fire engineering
Understanding of IT structured cabling such as Cat6, Fibre or Cell
